Mother Magdalen Damen, foundress, carried St. Francis' charism of simplicity and service into the world of her day. She lived in a spirit of simplicity, penance and love. Her trust in God led her to a life of prayer and service.
In today's world, together with the sisters God gives us, we seek to understand and respond to the reality of God's presence in all of creation. This calls us to live in community, as pilgrims in the midst of God's people, opening our lives to the poor and powerless in order to be signs of hope. A reflective way of life enables us to discern God's will in dialogue with our sisters and others.
While working with others to make visible the reign of God, we strive:
To live the Gospel.
To be a sign of the contradiction to the forces of power, greed and hatred in our world.
To be a Christ-presence.
To be instruments of peace.
